How we look after your data

This policy explains what personal data Shift Consulting Ltd ("Shift", "we") collects through byshift.co.uk, what we do with it and the choices you have.

Who we are

Shift Consulting Ltd is the data controller. We're registered in England and Wales, company number 16014199, with our registered office at 29 Petters Road, Ashtead, KT21 1NB. For anything about your data, email craig@byshift.co.uk.

What we collect and why

Waiting list sign-ups. When you join the waiting list through join.byshift.co.uk we collect your name, email address and the answers you give. We use them to send you the dates and details of The Expedition and to follow up about working with Shift. The lawful basis is your consent, and you can withdraw it at any time.
Call bookings. If you book a call, our booking provider collects your name, email address and anything you choose to tell us, so we can hold the call. The lawful basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract.
Emails you send us. We keep your correspondence so we can reply and keep a record of our relationship. The lawful basis is our legitimate interest in running the business.

This website doesn't use advertising or tracking cookies.

Who we share it with

We use a small number of trusted providers to run the business, who process data on our behalf and only on our instructions: ScoreApp (waiting list and assessments), Calendly (call bookings), Google Workspace (email) and HubSpot (customer records). Some of these providers store data outside the UK, in which case they rely on approved safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum. We never sell your data.

How long we keep it

We keep waiting list and prospect data for up to two years from our last contact with you, and client records for six years after our work ends, for accounting and legal reasons. You can ask us to delete your data sooner.

Your rights

You have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, to data portability and to withdraw consent. Email craig@byshift.co.uk and we'll respond within one month. Every marketing email we send includes a link to unsubscribe.

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
